The Wannon Falls located south of Grampians. It has unique geographic features which are known as “punchbowl” meaning water flows from a basalt lava cliff and fall into a large pool. The Wannon falls gets water flow from the Grampians region via Wannon river.
It is very easy to find Wannon Falls. There is a tourist sign (brown sign) on Glenelg highway. It is only 2 Km from Glenelg high way and only a few meters from the car park. Nearest popular towns are Hamilton (20km) and Coleraine (16km). Roughly 4 hours from Melbourne which is probably not ideal for planning a day trip. It will better suit if you plan to stay in the Grampians region and travel locally from Hamilton, Hamilton, Halls Gap, Ararat and other local areas.
